Ireland on a map

Magnificiently mystical cool country with lots of intriguing traditions. Ireland is an island in the North Atlantic Ocean, in north-western Europe. It is separated from Great Britain to its east by the North Channel Known for Sint Patricks day, the pots of gold at the end of rainbows and pots a gold.

There's also nice little dances, cool pubs, nice people who wear their heart on their sleave, They like a good drink.

Lots of culture and history. Nice accents. In general it's a catholic country.

The main capital is Dublin.

In 1912, Queenstown was the most important city, as it was a harbour where ocean liners often stopped to pick up and drop off passengers during their trans-atlantic voyages.

Most of Titanic's Third Class passengers got aboard in Queenstown. It was the last docking Titanic would do, before going on the large part of her journey, to New York.

A part of the Irish island belongs to the United Kingdom, called Northern-Ireland. It was there, in Belfast where Titanic was built. Lots of the builders were Irish. In the 1997 movie Titanic, fictional Irish Third Class passenger Tommy Ryan befriends Jack Dawson and Fabrizio, and he is adamant that Titanic is a solid as a rock Irish ship, because of the big Irish hands that built her, 15,000 Irishmen no less. He has a problem with British people, as shown when he is annoyed by the First Class dogs who get walked on their aft promenade Deck, punches British stewards and calls Officer Murdoch a limey bastard.
