Miss Augusta Charlotta Lindblom was 45 years old, and lived in Stockholm just before travelling aboard Titanic.
Augusta Lindblom had been persuaded by letter to come join her sister in Connecticut. The sister was married.. She had many other relatives in USA. She got her emigration certificate on 30 March and boarded the Titanic at Southampton as a Third Class passenger. She was headed for her sister’s home on Nicholls Ave. in Stratford. Described by her friend and fellow passenger Agnes Sandstrom as being “afraid of everything,” Augusta retreated to her cabin after the collision with the iceberg, locked the door, and went to bed. She apparently went down with the ship while still in her cabin. A pretty unique story.
